In Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt, the first kings, were referred to as "dragons", because they were embalmed with the fat of a large dragon lizard ; the "Mus-Hus" or "Mess-eh". In Hebrew language, this became "Messiah" or "The Embalmed".
In the Celtic world the chief kings were known as "Pendragon" (chief of the dragons), or Ringlord, because they wore the ring which symbolized their divine authority. |
